Job Summary and Qualifications
The HVAC lead is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components specifically to do with air handlers and building automation systems. Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the HVAC lead will diagnose problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients. Sets an example in professionalism and workmanship.
- Repairs are successfully completed, seldom requiring additional work ·
- Repairs are completed in a time period appropriate to the task. ·
- Conducts repairs with minimal inconvenience to staff and patients. ·
- Install new and replacement equipment and building components. ·
- Maintains work area/cart in orderly fashion ·
- Services and repairs building systems; i.e., Nurse call, tube system, automatic doors, parking gates, ice maker.
- Doors and hardware, repairs and adjust doors and hardware. Repair and adjust cabinetry.
- Repair/replace floor covering.
- HVAC: Five years’ experience in mechanical systems maintenance, modification and renovation in a large medical center, office complex, industrial facility or hotel is required.
- Possession of a valid Texas Class A or B, Air Conditioning License, and/or appropriate EPA Freon Refrigerant Certificate are preferred.
- Prior experience with Siemens or other proprietary building automation/energy management systems is desirable.
- High School education or equivalent required
- Degree from trade or technical school - preferred
- Associates degree in HV/AC, Electrical, Plant Operations or Maintenance related field
- Universal HVAC License
