About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Center on March ARB, CA. Assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. The position is a regular part time position, which means you are eligible for benefits and guaranteed to work at least 20 hours per week. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Greets and assists visitors with check-in; answers questions and explains regulations, policies, and procedures which apply to the campground; distributes park rules and regulations and other pertinent information. Explains the campground layout, check-in procedures, and direct guest to campsites. May assist campers with locating campsites and to points of interest in the local area such as groceries, churches, tourist attractions and local events. Enforces and complies the campground rules and regulations. Be observant for activities within the campground requiring immediate attention and communicate to supervisor. Post or hand out announcements of information or activities regarding the campground or occupants of the campground. Informs staff daily of new or departing guesting with the campground. Perform light maintenance and cleaning around the facilities and campground such as litter pick-up, sweeping, stocking restrooms, and provides information to ODR staff on potential problems and repair work that is needed. Ensure bulletin boards are in good condition, contain proper signage and maintain a positive and neat appearance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: This is an entry level position. No previous experience required. Ideal candidates would possess the skill or ability to work with other provide quality customer service, ability to communicate with other both verbally and written, ability to provide suitable, season long, on-site accommodation at the campground are desirable; however, no experience is required.
