SECURITY SPECIALIST
This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
As a SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the Command Physical Security (PHYSEC) Officer. Serve as the JECC's Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Officer and principle expert on all matters relating to AT/FP programs and operations within the JECC clamancy. Serve as the Command Industrial Security Officer (INDSEC) and administers the INDSEC program for the command. Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Serves as the Command Information Security (INFOSEC) Officer and Command Operational Security (OPSEC) Officer.
Requirements
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Planning, Executing, Reviewing, Scheduling, Coordinating, and Controlling assigned Physical Security activities and programs throughout an agency. Developing new procedures, instruction, and updates for command-wide policy and programs in response to emerging technology developments and expanded security requirements. Planning, executing, coordinating, and controlling assigned Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection activities and programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
