Gerard Gwinn

My name is Gerard Gwinn, but most people call me Jerry. I was born and raised on Long Island and went to school at Connecticut College to study Government, aiming to work as an entry level analyst at a bulge bracket. COVID-19 forced me to graduate online and resulted in me losing out on several job opportunities. Rather than start from square one, I decided to enlsit in the US Coast Guard to get out of my comfort zone, gather new experiences, help deliver a positive impact. My strengths are resilience, a positive attitude, a strong analytical background, and working well in high pressure situations. I have strong problem-solving skills I have developed from the two jobs I have done in the Coast Guard as well as the formal education and relevant coursework I took at my four-year university. I have also taken advantage of educational opportunities while in the military, such as using tuition assistance for a masters' during my off time. I am devoted to my work and would like to transition out of the military and into an analyst role that demands similar dedication and focus.
