Production Controller

About the Position: Sierra Army depot is located in Herlong, Ca, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles of Susanville, Ca. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.


  • Formulate production schedules for major end item systems
  • Estimate material and labor resource requirements for incoming production control work.
  • Generate detailed cost estimates for incoming asset repair programs.
  • Synchronize physical asset movements between storage yards and repair bays to keep lines fed.
  • Extract floor metrics to optimize future production runs.

Updating production records within a production database to ensure accurate production tracking, and 3. Overseeing end-to-end shop floor operations to ensure timely completion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
