Senior Business Analyst

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a contract Senior Business Analyst. In this position, you will serve as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. 

Major duties

• Analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. 
• Elicit requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis. 
• Transform information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups. 
• Use standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language. 
• Act as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeks out training opportunities. 
• Use agency tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.

What are we looking for?

• 8 years of experience eliciting requirements from customer interviews and creating well-written system requirements.
• 8 years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• 8 years of experience with business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases that follow business analysis best practices.
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that follow UX best practices.
• 5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
• 5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills.

• 4 years of documented work experience with federal/state/local education agency or education vendor.
• 2 years of documented work experience with Atlassian Jira.
• 2 years of documented work experience with a requirements management software tool such as Modern Requirements.

• Rate: $85.00/hour

• W2 Contract

• Worksite Location: Remote

• Contract Length: through 8/31 with opportunity for extension
