License and Permit Specialist

If you have succeeded in a busy call center, bank branch, patient-registration department, airline or hospitality operation, government intake office, or high-volume retail setting, this $27.50-per-hour Pflugerville role offers a strong next step. Convenient to Wells Branch, Tech Ridge, Round Rock, Hutto, and north Austin, this large public-service center needs people who are energized by a steady customer queue, measurable goals, and work that must be both fast and accurate.

You will need to stay composed in a full lobby, absorb a complex rules-based process, and give every customer a professional explanation, even under pressure. Regimented, paid training will prepare you for the work and help you build experience that has enabled many Peak Performers employees to compete successfully for permanent state positions.

Who you will be working with
You will join a high-volume state public-service center serving residents across north Austin and the surrounding communities. The operation uses structured workflows and daily production expectations. Team members must move efficiently between document review, customer education, data entry, testing, payments, and other assigned services while remaining calm in a visible, public-facing setting.

Two years of customer-service experience in an onsite, customer-facing environment.
Graduation from a two-year college is preferred.
Relevant experience and education may substitute for one another.
A valid Texas-issued driver license and clean driving record are required because employees administer road tests in applicant vehicles.
Ability to learn and apply detailed laws, policies, procedures, and document requirements.
Ability to remain professional when customers are frustrated, disagree with a decision, or must return with additional documentation.
Ability to work onsite, maintain daily productivity standards, and complete a highly regimented training program.
